Climate burning of fossil fuels. These Greenhouse

Climate change is caused by many different activities. Climate change causes global temperatures to rise and it can. This Temperature rise can result in more floods, droughts and severe heat waves. The rising temperatures also causes glaciers to melt and sea levels to rise. If this changes continue to occur, it will likely present challenges to future generations and the environment.      Since the industrial revolution, human activities have released large amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Most of these greenhouse gases come from the burning of fossil fuels. These Greenhouse gases rise and form a blanket around the world and trap the heat energy in the earth’s atmosphere. This “greenhouse effect” is essential for life on earth but too much of it can result in dangerous effects to the environment. A warmer climate can adversely affect how humans live as the water supplies, agriculture, transport systems. The carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere can stay there for very very long and won’t diffuse anytime soon.    The website https://climate.nasa.gov/ shows the global statistics of climate change. To name some, the global temperature is up by 1.7 degrees fahrenheit since 1880, the earth’s land ice goes down by 286 GIGATONNES PER YEAR and the sea level rises 3.2 millimeters per year. These statistics should be enough to convince the entire human race that climate change is real and that humans do have a part to play in it. But what can we do to possible slower or stop the effects of climate change?   In singapore specifically, seeing that we actually don’t have a way to produce energy buy  ourselves, Singapore already imports 80 per cent of its energy needs from Malaysia and Indonesia through gas pipelines, which go to power plants  here that turn the gas into electricity. As the demand for power continues to grow but the supply continues to decrease, Singapore will need to find new ways to get its energy. Solar panels can be installed throughout Singapore. For example, on the roof of HDB buildings. Solar panels are reliable as singapore experiences on average 12 hours of sunlight and it is a renewable form of energy making it an ideal choice for the future of singapore as it is eco-friendly and is ideal for Singapore as Singapore has very little space to build wind farms and hydropower. The only con that people may argue is that it is very costly to build but, in the long run, the amount of money saved from managing power plants and buying energy from other countries.       In conclusion, we need to take part and try to stop global warming and other effects on climate change. If the earth’s temperatures continue to rise in the future, living things on earth would become extinct due to the high temperatures. If humans contribute to control global warming, this world would be cooler and the high temperatures we currently have would decrease. If everybody as one take stand and try to end most of the climate changes that are occurring, this world would be a safer place to live on.
