Windows 10 Desktop Gadgets

First introduced on Windows Vista, Desktop Gadgets offered numerous information. Windows 7 has some quality gadgets, but unfortunately these Desktop Gadgets were not available in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and not even in the latest Windows 10.

This features was unavailable due to security reasons according to Microsoft. In fact, Microsoft even provided a tool for Windows 7 to uninstall Desktop Gadgets completely.

In the newer versions of Windows, live tiles, that are considered to work better, replaced the desktop gadgets to an extent. But in order to have access to these live tiles, you needed to switch to the Start Screen or Start Menu, which was kind of annoying.

In case you have upgraded your system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and you want those Desktop Gadgets back, you will be pleased to know that Desktop Gadgets are available and can be installed in Windows 10 with the help of a third-party installer.
